1. Cellucor NO3 Chrome – Best muscle pump supplement

nitric oxide

If you either never tried nitric oxide supplements or haven’t got the best results with them, you’ve gotta give Cellucor NO3 Chrome a try.

Each serving of NO3 Chrome contains 750 milligrams of what Cellucor calls its Extreme Vascularity Complex, which contains Nitrosigine, an ingredient patented and clinically studied to increase nitric oxide and provide a serious pump.

This pick for the best muscle pump supplement also contains vitamin C, arginine, citrulline malate, and grape seed extract. Many of these ingredients you’ll find in the best pump supplements, so it’s nice to also see them in NO3 Chrome.

Another perk of NO3 Chrome is that it’s stimulant-free. This is great because you can stack or take NO3 Chrome with other pre-workouts. NO3 Chrome might also be the best nitric oxide product for people who can’t have caffeine.

Take this supplement about 30 to 60 minutes before you exercise on an empty stomach. Trust me, if my results were anything to go by, you’ll feel fuller muscles and should notice increased vascularity.

BulkSupplements.com’s agmatine supplement features 1,000 milligrams of agmatine sulfate in each serving. This supplement might also help boost your appetite and improve your mood.

Agmatine sulfate is one ingredient instead of a supplement made up of various ingredients. However, starting at only $13.96 (as of this writing), BulkSupplements Agmatine is a steal.

Do you want a pump product that’s also a stim-based pre-workout? Then, look no further than Edge of Insanity from Psycho Pharma.

This potent pre-workout contains 350 milligrams of caffeine (not a typo) per serving. That’s one reason why Psycho Pharma recommends people start out with a half scoop of this supplement at a time.

Besides its caffeine content, Edge of Insanity also contains alpha yohimbine and theobromine for intense focus and energy.

But what about the pump? Edge of Insanity is one of the best muscle pump supplements for its 8,000 milligrams of L-Citrulline Malate and 3,200 milligrams of Beta-Alanine per serving.

This great-tasting supplement is also available in several different flavors, including:

4. Nitric-Max – An all-natural way to improve blood flow

nitric oxide supplements

If you need the most nitric oxide boosting power, you’ll want to check out Nitric-Max. This pick is one of the best muscle pump supplements because it is packed with nitric oxide boosting ingredients, including L-Arginine alpha-Ketoglutarate and calcium.

This nitric oxide supplement helps increase blood flow and provides muscle fullness in a way that many other pump supplements can’t match. Taking Nitric-Max about 30 minutes before working out should help improve muscle growth.

Plus, since this product is a non-stimulant pre-workout, you can take it with caffeine to enhance energy. Or take this supplement by itself if you’re caffeine-sensitive.

Nitric-Max also promotes blood flow, which can help you out by improving your recovery time after working out to achieve new muscle growth.

If you’ve tried other pump products and didn’t like the results you achieved, check out this nitric oxide supplement.

If you need the most nitric oxide boosting power, you’ll want to check out NO2-Max. This supplement is packed with nitric oxide boosting ingredients, including L-Arginine alpha-Ketoglutarate and calcium.

5. SBULK

muscle pump supplement

Why SBULK? This supplement contains capsules featuring a range of proven natural pump ingredients.

Another supplement that I’m a big fan of is SBulk. This supplement is from Brutal Force Nutrition. It features a combination of D-Aspartic Acid, Fenugreek Extract, and other natural ingredients shown to boost your testosterone.

I was able to try this supplement out in 2020, and I had great results. It’s made with all-natural ingredients, which is nice. With that said, you might not get insane results with it. However, the price of this supplement and the all-natural ingredients was a combination I was happy with.

6. Pumpsurge

pump surge

Another one of the best muscle pump supplements I’ve used is Pumpsurge. This supplement is caffeine-free, which is great for those who are sensitive to this ingredient or don’t need any more caffeine than what they already use.

Pumpsurge also contains L-Citulline, Taurine, and Betaine. When combined, these ingredients are a great part of almost any pump supplement. Because it contains no caffeine, Pumpsurge can be a great addition to your pre-workout supplement. It’s also a good supplement for beginners.

With that said, the person who is writing the article you’re reading is a huge fan of caffeine. Like probably to a concerning level. For me, or any other self-admitted caffeine addict, a caffeine-free supplement like Pumpsurge might not be the best option.

If you’re looking for something to provide mega muscle pumps and boost nitric oxide production, look no further than Pumpsurge.

7. Pump Mode

Another one of the best muscle pump supplements has to be Pump Mode. This supplement is made by Evlution Nutrition. This is an unflavored supplement, which is good for people who don’t want anything too sweet before they go and work out.

Pump Mode contains Betaine Nitrate along with blends of antioxidants and vitamins. Another popular ingredient in this supplement is called Hydromax. Research shows that HydroMax helps to increase muscle hydration and improve your ability to absorb fluids while working out.

I like that this supplement opts to include more natural ingredients than most. I hate seeing all of a supplement’s ingredients hiding behind a proprietary blend.

8. Insane Labz Insane Veinz

insane veinz supplement container

Taking a page out of the “end everything with a Z” playbook is Insane Labz. All joking aside, this company makes another great pump supplement called Insane Veinz. You might have also heard of this company from its pre-workout supplement called Insane Cutz.

This supplement is another one that contains no caffeine, which is great for someone who isn’t wanting a lot of this ingredient. Part of what makes this supplement work so well is its dose of agmatine sulfate, an ingredient I’m a huge fan of.

If you take a quick look at the container, you can probably guess why I’m such a fan of this one. Is that Jason Voorhees on the cover of this supplement?

Like, the Camp Crystal Lake Jason Voorhees? Yup. I think that’s pretty cool.

9. Gaspari Nutrition Superpump Max

This one isn’t the newest supplement on the block, but it’s a great one. When I first started lifting weights around 2012, this was one of the first supplements I began using. I still get a little nostalgic when I come across this supplement’s green apple flavor.

Gaspari Nutrition is a company full of cool people that remain active within the bodybuilding supplement. If you’re looking for a supplement that’s both a pump and a pre-workout supplement, this is it.

If you need something that also gives you energy, the best muscle pump supplement for you could be Superpump Max.

10. N.O XT

Another one of my personal nitric oxide-boosting favorites is N.O. XT. This nitric oxide supplement promotes blood flow, allowing you to train harder and longer than ever before.

Like other nitric oxide boosters in this list, this product contains scientifically-backed ingredients, including, L-Citrulline (citrulline malate) and black pepper fruit extract (as Bioperine).

Since this supplement doesn’t contain caffeine, you can take it with most other pre-workouts. From my experience, this supplement can help your body produce a better pump than the average nitric oxide product.

What is a muscle pump?

Getting a pump is another term for having full muscles. You typically “get a pump” when you lift weights because doing this makes your muscles larger. If you’ve ever spent time working out and noticing how much bigger you felt when you were done, you’ve experienced a pump.

But you’ve also probably experienced times in the gyms where you barely got a pump or, even worse, no pump at all!

Most people want to start working out to gain more muscle. Needless to say, it makes sense that people want to leave home or the public gym feeling bigger than when they first walked in.

Enter supplement companies. Now, it seems like almost every supplement company has its own version of the best muscle pump supplement.

I’ve seen these supplements floating around since at least 2012 when I started lifting weights.

Unfortunately, I can personally tell you that not many pump supplements work that great. But some do! Keep reading to find out about the best nitric oxide supplements.

What Are the Best Muscle Pump Ingredients?

I also thought it would be helpful to explain what ingredients increase nitric oxide production quickly. This is the process that provides that much-wanted muscle pump.

Arginine Nitrate

One of the best ways to ramp up your nitric oxide production is by consuming arginine nitrate (otherwise known as L-arginine).

L-arginine is an amino acid that can help boost your strength, endurance, and of course, nitric oxide levels. As the nitric oxide boosting process begins, it will increase blood flow throughout your body.

It’s important to note you don’t only have to get arginine from supplements. You can also find this amino acid in turkey, pork, chicken, and many kinds of nuts.

Betaine Anhydrous

While you might not have heard of betaine anhydrous, it’s an ingredient you’ll see on the labels of many muscle pump supplements.

Betaine anhydrous occurs naturally in the human body when it breaks down choline (something found in many foods). You can also find this ingredient in beets.

You’ll find that betaine anhydrous works for increasing blood flow and producing nitric oxide. This ingredient also provides excellent muscle pumps by ramping up creatine production within the body.

Beta-Alanine

Another ingredient that acts as a nitric oxide booster is beta-alanine. As with the other ingredients in this list, you’ll commonly find beta-alanine in vascularity supplements.

If you haven’t tried beta-alanine before, this is an ingredient that you can feel. As anyone who has felt it knows, beta-alanine is an ingredient that can cause certain parts of your skin to produce a tingling sensation.

This amazing ingredient can also help reduce muscle soreness and helps to improve blood flow. But that’s not where the benefits of this ingredient end.

This ingredient also increases carnosine throughout your body, which helps decrease how quickly your lean muscle tissue wears down.

L-Citrulline

Another ingredient found in many of the best muscle pump supplements is L-Citrulline (sometimes called citrulline malate). There are also a few studies showing that L-Citrulline can help lower your blood pressure!

After L-Citrulline enters your body, things get even better. Once it’s here, L-Citrulline converts itself into arginine. The more L-Citrulline you’re consuming, the more nitric oxide your body will be able to produce.

What are the benefits of boosting nitric oxide?

Before you start taking a pump supplement, it’s understandable to want to know why these products are worth taking. As it turns out, a nitric oxide booster can have many benefits.

More energy and endurance

a person squatting with a kettleball

One of the best benefits of nitric oxide is that it expands your muscle cells and blood vessels. This might sound scary, but it’s actually a good thing.

When this happens, it helps to boost your body’s production of energy. This is helpful to get you through long, intense workouts. It’s also great for having more energy throughout the day.

Reduce muscle soreness

When your muscles have more oxygen, they’re able to give you more energy. What’s also great about taking a nitric oxide booster is that it can help you recover quicker after workouts. With expanded blood vessels, it’s easy for this part of the body to transport nutrients and vitamins your muscles need.

Ingredients like vitamin C, Citrulline Malate, and amino acids can all help you stop dealing with sore muscles after working out.

It might help lower your blood pressure.

It’s also important to note that some of the best muscle pump supplements may help lower your blood pressure. While you might not be thinking about your blood pressure much at the moment, it’s an important thing to keep an eye on throughout life.

And you certainly don’t want to live with high blood pressure. Fortunately, the way that nitric oxide helps expand your blood vessels can help with this situation.

Who knew that a nitric oxide supplement could provide so many amazing benefits?

When should you take vascularity supplements?

Before you try any of the best muscle pump supplements from the list above, it’s helpful to know when you should take them. You might hear a lot of different recommendations around the internet.

Regarding when I take a pump supplement, here’s what has worked the best for me.

On workout days, I take a supplement for nitric oxide production about 45 minutes before I start working out. Feel free to take your nitric oxide booster within a 30-60 minute window before you start training.

The 30-60 minute window of time should give most nitric oxide boosters enough time to get where they need to be after you swallow them.

If you’re interested in the topic of over-the-counter testosterone boosters, I’ve got you covered. I recently made a list of the best-rated over-the-counter test boosters here.

I hope you liked my look at some of the best muscle pump supplements on the market. If you enjoy reading about supplements, I’ve got some recent posts you might enjoy, including one about how to get free supplements. Enjoy!
